Behrouz Kamalvandi maintained that the country’s recent nuclear achievements related to the fields of fuel, laser, power plants and health issues, will be unveiled during the ceremony marking the National Nuclear Technology Day.
A new project will be also launched in one of the country’s nuclear sites, he added.
According to Kamalvandi, senior officials, prominent figures and elites will attend the ceremony, and a report on Iran’s advances in various fields of nuclear industry will be presented to those present.
The National Day of Nuclear Technology falls on April 9 (April 8 in leap years), or Farvardin 20 in the official calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The day was chosen for the occasion of the unveiling of significant nuclear achievements on April 9, 2007. Each year, a celebration will be held on this day during which the country’s recent nuclear achievements will be unveiled.
During the previous year’s ceremony, a number of nuclear achievements were unveiled, covering the fields of medicine, treatment, disease diagnosis and industry. Among the domestic accomplishments were three radio-medicines as well as a nuclear fuel assembly for power reactors.
This year, due to the fact that the National Day of Nuclear Technology has fallen on Friday, which is a weekend day in Iran, the ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 7.
